The Rotonda Condominiums McLean, VA
Location, location, location! This famous phrase that describes prime real estate could have been coined for The Rotonda Condominium, located in the heart of Tysons Corner in McLean, Virginia. This outstanding community of 1168 condominium homes, the vision of Giuseppe Cecchi, president of IDI Group Companies and designed by nationally acclaimed architect Wayne Williams, was built between 1978 and 1981 and is today considered one of the premier residential communities in the Washington Metropolitan area. In 1998 it was recognized as the Winner of "Community of the Year Award".
Five 10-story buildings are spread throughout 35 acres which also include walking trails, picnic sites, six tennis courts, a putting green, trees, beautiful landscaping and plentiful outdoor parking. In the center of it all, attached to Building one, is a fabulous community center inside which great amenities are available to Rotonda residents and their guests. The first impression is made by the beautiful outdoor pool and deck that wraps around the corner of the building. Once inside the center there are more opportunities for fun and relaxation with a large, gorgeous indoor pool and deck, exercise rooms for both men and women with saunas, four bowling lanes, table tennis, pool tables, an indoor golf driving range, a great lounge for relaxing, reading or playing cards with your neighbors, a restaurant/snack bar, the general convenience store and a hair salon. The center, along with the community, is managed by a professional staff in the management office, also located in the center, which is accessible 24 hours per day. The Rotonda is a completely gated community which is also patrolled on a round-the-clock basis by a security staff. There are two manned security gates for residents and one for visitors.
Each Rotonda Building has a tastefully decorated lobby and sitting area, a party room, laundry room with commercial grade washer and dryer (notwithstanding the fact that all homes come with stack washer/dryers) and two indoor garage levels. Homes range in size from 1 bedroom 1 bath 902 square feet to outstanding 3 bedroom 3 baths with 2185 square feet, all with balconies, and many have recent updated kitchens, baths, carpet and paint. The Rotonda is also situated on the highest point in the Washington Metropolitan area and views range from panoramic vistas of the horizon to the east, including the Washington Cathedral to panoramic vistas of the west with beautiful sunsets and Sugarloaf Mountain. Courtyard views look down on the beautiful community center and outdoor pool.
The Rotonda is close to everything. Two major shopping centers, Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria, are within easy reach as well as other shopping in nearby Vienna and McLean. Rt. 123, Rt. 7, the capital beltway ant Rt.66 and the free shuttle bus to shopping and metrobus make commuting or just getting around very easy.
